Fun Fitness Tips: TV Commercial Workout

Achieving physical fitness is not only looking and feeling great–it’s essential to a healthy body. Keeping your body fit doesn’t mean you have to look like a bodybuilder or a professional athlete, it means making time to be active!

A common excuse for not exercising regularly is lack of time. If you have time to watch your favorite television show, you have time to work out! You could even make a workout around a television show. An example is as follows.

During your television show, workout during commercials! Whatever the commercial is about that’s what you’ll do for that segment. Feel free to create your own activities. For example:

Food/restaurant commercial      jumping jacks

Jewelry commercial                        30 jumping jacks

Travel commercial                           20 squats/lunges

Medication commercial                 planks

Health/beauty commercial          high knees

Movie trailer                                      10 leg lifts on each side

Commercial for TV show               jabs

Fitness commercial                         lunges

Other/Miscellaneous                     tricep dips

 

Other things to consider:

Take the stairs

Try a new activity

Park farther away and WALK!

Move to your favorite song

Choose three “pump you up” songs to move to throughout the day – high energy

Choose three relaxing songs to move to throughout the day – slow and controlled movements
